Morrow Mail Terms of Service

The software

Morrow Mail is desktop software that caches mail on your computer. HWL-HK does not provide a hosted mailbox. Released v0.2.39 offers optional AI through an API-key/custom endpoint or a separately connected ChatGPT account. The Privacy Policy describes the data and recipients for these paths.

Google and Microsoft Outlook are account providers you may connect. Their services remain subject to their own terms. Any configured AI service also has its own terms and settings.

Your accounts and credentials

You are responsible for the Google, Microsoft, and any other credentials you connect, for keeping them secure, and for activity on those accounts through Morrow Mail. Connect only accounts you are allowed to access.

Provider access supports the app’s mail and calendar features, including background synchronization. Optional AI can use cached data and derived context as described in the Privacy Policy. Connecting a mailbox or accepting these terms does not replace a required disclosure and affirmative consent for AI data transfers.

Local data and optional AI

You are responsible for backups and for reviewing the endpoint, model, account terms, and data settings of any AI service you configure. Local mail storage does not prevent context from being transmitted to a remote AI service. A local model keeps processing on-device only when its endpoint and downstream processing are local.

The released app has manual and automatic AI triggers, including translation/writing actions, stale-view/hourly refreshes, saved skill schedules, and automatic reply suggestions when a reply composition opens. API-key mode has no independent background-AI permission. ChatGPT has a per-account background preference for refresh, triage and scheduled skills; in v0.2.39 it does not cover the automatic reply-suggestion path. This is not a common AI-data consent control across both modes.

Deleting provider mail, removing a mailbox account, signing out of ChatGPT, and clearing AI history have different effects. Disconnecting or uninstalling does not guarantee removal of all local/derived AI data, backups, or content already sent to a service. The Privacy Policy describes these limits and removal guidance. HWL-HK cannot restore a copy it does not hold or guarantee deletion by another service.

Acceptable use

Do not use Morrow Mail to break the law, to access an account without permission, or to interfere with a mail or calendar provider.

Do not use Morrow Mail to create or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated imagery (AI NCII). Do not use Google user data or content derived from it to create, train, or improve generalized or non-personalized AI/ML models. A user-configured provider must be reviewed against the applicable Google data-use restrictions. These terms do not set that provider’s retention or training practices.

As-is software

Morrow Mail is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Mail delivery, provider APIs, and OAuth consent screens can change or stop outside our control. The software is not warranted to be uninterrupted or error-free.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Leo Ho and HWL-HK are not liable for lost messages, lost data, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the software or from a connected account.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated by posting a new version on this page. Continuing to use Morrow Mail after an update means you accept the updated terms.
